FMS vs MDI vs SPJIMR — how to think about the choice?

If I get all three, how should I weigh fees, ROI, and specialization fit? Curious how others approached this.

Three schools with genuinely different value propositions — the right one depends on your target role and financial situation. FMS Delhi: fees are a genuine differentiator — ~₹40,000 total for the 2-year programme; batch quality is comparable to IIM Indore/Kozhikode. Strong in finance and consulting within Delhi NCR; alumni network is dense in North India. The right choice if ROI is your primary constraint or if you're targeting North India placements. MDI Gurgaon: the only one of the three with a meaningful PSU placement track (ONGC, NTPC, BHEL and similar). If you're eyeing a public sector or government-adjacent career path, MDI is the clear winner. Also strong in HR (it has a dedicated HRM programme) and general management. Fees are moderate (~₹20–22L). SPJIMR Mumbai: the best of the three for consulting and FMCG/consumer companies. BCG, McKinsey, HUL, L'Oréal — SPJIMR has strong placement relationships with these firms. Mumbai location means better access to financial services and startups during internships. An international exchange semester is a distinct differentiator if global exposure matters. Decision framework: pick the domain first (PSU/public sector → MDI; consulting/FMCG → SPJIMR; maximise ROI → FMS), then check whether the location works for your logistics. If you're genuinely indifferent on domain, FMS's fees story is hard to beat.
